Fierce battle for the virtual Silverstone podium
Marcel Schrötter started from the front row into the Virtual British Grand Prix and only lost his podium chances shortly before the finish line in his second MotoGP eSport appearance.
Once again the MotoGP racing action in the virtual world proved to be a very exciting and, above all, unpredictable affair.
Up until the penultimate lap Marcel Schrötter was considered to be the third-placed contender for the podium in the Michelin® Virtual British Grand Prix. However, the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP rider, who started the six-lap race from an excellent second place on the grid, unexpectedly crashed on the penultimate lap and thus destroyed his podium prospects. He was then forced to defend fourth place against the fierce attacks of Augusto Fernandez. When the Spaniard passed on the inside in the last corner, Marcel Schrötter went down again in the duel and had to finish the game in fifth.
The podium celebrations, on the other hand, went to Dutchman Bo Bendsneyder, former Intact GP Junior, the Malaysian Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin and to the Spaniard Hector Garzo.
