Off-road action costs Aegerter P8 in his virtual MotoE debut

Dynavolt Intact GP rider Dominique Aegerter finished the virtual season opener of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup in Misano in ninth place.

The five-round spectacle at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in which a total of nine MotoE riders competed against one another, resulted in several chaotic scenes, just like in the previous three virtual MotoGP™ races. One thing is now more than clear, the outcome of the virtual battles are far more unpredictable than the actual Grand Prix races.

With a fifth place on the grid, the time attack mode in the fight for pole position went quite positive for the 29-year-old Swiss. But in the first lap of the race, Dominique Aegerter and German Lukas Tulovic from Tech 3 E-Racing not only ensured that the MotoE™ rookie, Jordi Torres (Join Contract Pons 40), crashed out in the first corner but the both of them too.
Fortunately for the two German-speaking MotoE™ competitors, there is no such thing as a virtual race direction, even if the Swiss got imposed with penalty seconds in the end because he was off-road for several times and so his eighth-place turned into ninth and thus last.

The superior winner of the race was ultimately the first FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup winner Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE).
